Another day, another County – I’ve moved to Cornwall now for some amazing runs along the estuary. This is the view from the cottage just before setting out. I ran up to Pendennis Head and then back along the beeches before crossing the estuary at Penryn and then running along the coastline through Flushing and on to Restronguet and Mylor harbour before turning around and heading for home. A total of 16 miles but really heavy going underfoot with all the rain we’ve been having.
I think, despite the weather, the coastal running in Cornwall has been easier than Devon although both have had their moments and of course both have spectacular scenery. I’m realising now just how hard this ultra is going to be for a road runner like me – it’s difficult to get into any kind of rhythm with the awkward terrain, rocks, narrow paths and not to mention the gorse.
This is one of the great runs so give it a go if you get the chance and it’s all good training for the ultra in a few days!
Happy running and don’t forget to visit our other site www.marlonthemotivator.com to see what motivates us to do these crazy challenges!
